[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Pak army dismisses India’s claim

In an effort to weaken the Pakistani Army’s support to infiltrators in Jammu & Kashmir, the Indian Army has very recently destroyed military posts through punitive strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) along Nowshera sector in Rajouri.

On Tuesday, Major General Ashok Narula was quoted as saying: “With the mercury rising and snow melting in the Valley, the chances of infiltration from the Pakistani side have increased. The Army is all geared up to counter such threats.”

The Indian Army has released a 20 second video of its counter-terrorism operation to destroy posts across LoC which took place on May 9. The Army claimed that it has conducted similar operations in the Naugam sector on May 20 and 21.

A document, titled “Video of Action at LoC”, says “as part of our counter-terrorism operations, punitive fire assaults across line of control are being undertaken by the Indian Army… a recent action by our troops in the Nowshera sector has caused some damage to the Pak army posts, which are supporting infiltrations”.

However, Pakistan has dismissed India’s claim. Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) director Major General Asif Ghafoor has tweeted on Tuesday that “Indian claims of destroying post along LoC in Nowshera sector and firing by Pakistan army on civilians across LoC are false”.

Earlier, Pakistan also denied India’s claim of conducting “surgical strike” in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on September 29, 2016, 11 days after the Uri terror attack killed 19 soldiers. Jaish-e-Mohammad was suspected to have been behind the mass shooting.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
