IPL 2022 has reached the time when seven teams will compete to make it to the left top three positions. Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans has already made it to the play-offs and is in a much better position than any other team.

The two most successful teams of Indian Premiere League, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings is already out of the tournament. However, there are seven team who are still in the race, so here are some possibilities for the team to make it to the IPL Play-off:

Rajasthan Royals:

RR has the strongest claim among all teams to seal their position at the playoff. Having the maximum run rate of 0.304, Rajasthan Royals has the brightest chances to qualify. Only 5 teams can now reach to the 16 points mark and RR is already there. Now only if the team loses to CSK with huge margin and fifth-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore wins their last league game by a big margin, then only RR will drop below the fourth position.

Lucknow Super Giants:

LSG has had a pretty strong run from the starting of IPL 2022. Being a new team, Lucknow Super Giants did not let that come between them and their claim at the play-offs. However, back-to-back two losses have dropped their net run rate from 0.700 to 0.262. But the team also has 13 points from 16 matches. Now LSG will have to defeat KKR to make it to the top four.

Delhi Capitals:

Delhi Capitals has 13 points from 13 matches, the team got it’s run rate to 0.255 from 0.210 after defeating Punjab Kings. DC is currently at the fourth position on the IPL 2022 Points Table and will have to win the remaining league matches to seal their spot in the top four.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Royal Challengers Bangalore has slipped to fifth position after DC defeated PBKS. The team has 14 points from 13 matches but their run rate will be a problem for them. RCB has a poor net run rate of -0.323, which is also less than all the IPL teams on the table. The Royals will have to defeat RCB Gujarat Titans in their last league match and also DC will have to lose to MI, for RCB to reach to the play-offs.

Kolkata Knight riders and Punjab Kings have 12 points each from 13 matches and the max they can reach is 14 points, which will not help them to qualify for the play-offs. With the Net Run Rate of 0.160, KKR will now face LSG. On the other hand, with the net run rate of -0.043, Punjab Kings will now face SRH for their last league match.

However, with the lowest points amongst team on table, Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a roller coaster season. First, they were on a losing streak, later they turned the tables and went for a winning streak but again the team lost its momentum and now with just ten points from 12 matches and a net run rate of -0.270, SRH is mathematically out of the tournament.
