Legendary actor Jeetendra, known for his iconic films during the 70s and 80s has created a unique legacy in Indian cinema. The veteran actor turned 82 on Sunday and celebrated his birthday with daughter Ekta Kapoor and son Tusshar Kapoor. His wife Shobha Kapoor, and grandchildren Lakshya Kapoor and Ravie Kapoor also joined him in the celebrations.

Ekta, Tusshar and Jeetendra shared pictures and videos from the birthday celebration. While Tushar shared the video on his Instagram post his elder sister took to her Instagram stories and shared some throwback pictures. She shared a family picture from childhood and a video of the classic song Hum to tere aashiq hain. The song is from Jeetendra’s 1967 action-thriller Farz.

In the video circulating on social media Jeetendra can be seen cutting the cake and feeding his grandchildren. Tusshar captioned his post as, #happybirthdaytoyou ….. We like to keep it simple and candid, I think we all were also shying away from the camera today! Jeetendra’s close friend Rakesh Roshan commented, Jeetu Birthday Greetings & Happiness Always (heart emoji). Chunky Pandey also wished him and wrote, Happy Happy Birthday dear Jeetu ji (heart, cake and smiling emojis). The Bollywood star shared a picture from his birthday party and wrote, Picture is perfect now..

Tusshar has a son Lakshya who was born in 2016. Ekta has a daughter Raviee. While Ekta is a full time producer and owns Balaji Entertainment, Tusshar has also started his own company Tusshar Entertainment House.

Ekta Kapoor’s last release Crew made under her banner Balaji Motion Pictures became a hit. The film has collected more than Rs 100 crore in worldwide collection. She is now working on the release of her upcoming project Dibakar Banerjee’s LSD 2. The producer is also getting ready for the production of Mohanlal’s multi-lingual historical film Vrushubha.

Vetran actor Junior Mehmood has passed away today at the age of 67. The seasoned actor was suffering from stage four stomach cancer. His friend Salam Kazi has confirmed the news of his passing, according to a report.

Junior Mehmood, whose birth name was Naeem Sayyed, reportedly passed away at home at 2:15 a.m. The son of Junior Mehmood, Husnain, said, they only found out about his fourth-stage stomach cancer 18 days ago.

He was brought to Tata Memorial Hospital by his family. At this point, the dean there informed Junior Mehmood’s family that chemotherapy and treatment would be extremely unpleasant. It was recommended by the hospital that we care for him at home.

According to reports, at around 12 pm, Junior Mehmood’s funeral service will be held in Santacruz West’s Juhu Muslim Cemetery, which is also where his mother is cremated.

Before he passed away, a number of movie stars, including Jeetendra and Johnny Lever, paid the ailing actor visits. Jeetendra went to Junior Mehmood’s house on Tuesday because the veteran actor had expressed a desire to meet him.

Jeetendra broke down when he saw his friend and co-star in agony. The actor told about his visit and said he was there by his bedside, but Junior Mehmood did not recognise him. He can’t even open his eyes from the anguish he’s in. Jeetendra said it pained him to see his friend in this way. He has been visiting Mount Mary Church for 25 years. He had intended to stop by Junior on way to church the next Sunday when he heard about his health issues. However, Johnny contacted him on Monday night and urged him to visit him as soon as possible, he said.

Sachin Pilgaonkar visited Junior Mehmood as well. Later, he begged his Instagram followers to pray for the well-being of his childhood friend in a post.

As a young actor, Junior Mehmood made his film debut in 1966’s Mohabbat Zindagi Hai. Later, he starred in films like Brahmachari, Kati Patang, Haathi Mere Saathi, Caravan, and Naunihal.

Mehmood gave him the screen name Junior Mehmood when they co-starred in the 1968 film Suhaag Raat. The actor had a short career on television with episodes like Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara and Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka.

Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz Khan confirmed the news of the actor’s death. He said, “Yes, my dad has left us this morning. He was unwell from last few months and in the hospital from last few days. We tried everything we could, but it was time. He was a very loving man and he loved everyone who was a part of his life.”

The actor had been hospitalised in Canada after he complained of breathlessness. Kader Khan had been put on a special ventilator, according to media reports.

Born in Kabul, Khan made his acting debut in 1973 with Rajesh Khanna’s Daag and went on to act in over 300 films. He also wrote dialogues for over 250 movies, with his first film as a dialogue writer being Randhir Kapoor-Jaya Bachchan’s Jawani Diwani.

As a screenwriter, Khan frequently collaborated with Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra.

He gave the film industry numerous hits including Aankhen, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Judaai, Khoon Bhari Maang, Biwi Ho To Aisi, Bol Radha Bol and Judwaa.

In a career spanning over 45 years Khan’s major collaboration came with David Dhawan and Govinda in the 1990s. The trio delivered blockbusters like Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1, Coolie No. 1, Dulhe Raja and Haseena Maan Jaayegi.

In fact, Khan had worked with all leading actors of 70s, 80s and 90s, including Rajesh Khanna, Bachchan, Jeetendra, Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor and Govinda.
