Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas has signed a new Hollywood project tentatively titled ‘Text For You’, in which she will be co-starring Grammy award winner Celine Dion and actor Sam Heughan. Chopra made the announcement on Twitter and said she is honoured to be part of the film directed by Jim Strouse.

Chopra wrote that she is excited to kickstart the movie with such incredible actors. The two of the actor’s cheerleaders, husband Nick Jonas and mother Madhu Chopra have also welcomed the big announcement. 

The film will be an English remake of German-language movie SMS Fur Dich, which is based on Sofie Cramer’s popular novel of the same name.

The story revolves around a heartbroken woman who will be played by Chopra, who lost her fiance tragically starts to connect through romantic texts to his fiance’s old number, which turns out to be the phone number of another man suffering from a similar heartbreak who lives across the town. Both feel an undeniable connection and with the music and influence of Dion, who crooned the Oscar winning love ballad  ‘My Heart Will Go On’ from Titanic, the two will once again take a chance on love.

Chopra has been cast opposite Sam Heughan, who is best known for his role in Netflix series Outlander. The film is being helmed by Jim Strouse, who has directed movies such as Grace Is Gone, The Incredible Jessica James and People Places Things. The production banner Thunder Road, who is behind films like A Star is Born and John Wick, is set to bankroll the film.

Meanwhile, Chopra is on a roll with an impressive list of upcoming projects including Netflix films The White Tiger and We Can Be Heroes, Russo Brother’s Citadel and a film with actress-comedian Mindy Kaling. She has also been reportedly roped in as part of the cast of Matrix 4.
