A video is going viral on the internet in which a Kashmiri man can be seen denied entry from a Delhi Hotel, that was listed under Oyo Rooms. The reason for denying entry to the man was that he was from Jammu and Kashmir and his identity was from there.

In the video, there is a woman employee at the hotel reception who was seen not giving entry to the Kashmiri man to check-in even after he showed his valid identity proofs, including Aadhar Card and even offered that he can show his passport if they want that too.

The man was heard saying in the video that he had booked a room through the website of Oyo and it has been confirmed from their side.

After being confronted by the man, the woman was making calls to his senior and was heard saying that the man is requesting the reason for denying his entry. Later, after her interaction with the senior, the woman tells the Kashmiri man that the Delhi Police has instructed them to not accommodate Kashmiri citizens in the hotel.

Later, Delhi Police issued a statement on this matter and said that a purported video is viral on social media wherein a person is being denied a hotel reservation due to his J&K ID. The reason for cancellation is being given as direction from police… no such direction has been given… willful misrepresentation can attract penal action.

Oyo Rooms also shared a tweet on their handle on this matter and wrote that their rooms and their hearts are open for everyone, always. This is not something that they will compromise on, ever. They will definitely check what compelled the hotel to deny check-in.
