Kia is all set to launch one of its much-awaited and advanced electric cars EV6 in India tomorrow (June 2). Many features and details about the vehicle already have been revealed, but the interested buyers are still curious about at what price the company will launch its power machine. The reports have suggested that the firm is likely to launch the EV6 at the starting price of Rs. 65 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the RWD variant. While the WD variant is likely to launch at Rs. 70 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The carmakers already started taking the booking of the vehicle in some cities. Interested customers can pay a sum of Rs 3 lakh to book the vehicle from any authorized store. The car also can be booked online through Kia’s official website. To note, the company revealed that it will only 100 units of the Kia EV6 will be sold in India this year.

Here’s all you need to know about Kia EV6

Talking about the battery pack, the India-spec Kia EV6 features a 77.4kWh battery pack with RWD and AWD drivetrain system options. The company claimed that the vehicle is expected to provide a range between 500 to 530 KM (WLTP) on a single charge.

The company has introduced the car in 4 charging options. It comes with a 350kW charger, a 50kW charger, a 25kW charger, and a 15kW charger as well, under which customers can charge the vehicle by using different to save time.

The 350kW charger takes almost 1 hour to fill the battery by 10-18%. Its 50kW charger takes less than an hour to do the same. While 25kW and 15kW chargers and regular power sockets will fill the battery by 0 to 100% in 36 hours.

The car comes with a dual 12.3-inch display with all car connect technology, ventilated seats, more than 200 ambient light, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, a sunroof, 8 airbags, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and whatnot.

The South Korean car manufacturer Kia is ready to expand its electric car segment in India by introducing its new electric crossover EV6. The company has already confirmed that it will launch the limited units of the car so that they would get an idea about the market in the country. Customers can expect the launch of the car somewhere around August or September, this year.

As per the official reports by the company, only 100 units of the EV will be allotted for the first year. Meanwhile, the firm will start taking pre-bookings for EV6 on the 26th of May. As far as the price of the vehicle is concerned, it will cost around between Rs 55 lakh to Rs 60 lakh.

Kia EV6 features, specs and other important details

Kia EV6 is likely to come with a top-spec GT-Line variant, which will feature a 77.4kWh battery pack, which will allow customers to have a long-range of more than 400 km on a single charge. The vehicle also will have a dual e-AWD system. As far as the power of the vehicle is concerned, it is likely to generate 320bhp and 605Nm of peak torque. Reports said the car will go 0 to 60mph in under 3.5 seconds.

If rumour is to be believed, the firm is also likely to launch the lower variant of EV6 with a smaller battery pack with a single-motor, RWD set up next year. But the company did not reveal any information regarding launching the lower trim as of now.

Talking about the features, the Kia electric crossover will come with a 12.0inch touchscreen infotainment system, that will support all car connect technology. It will also have an extension of a 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster. Reports reveal that the vehicle will have high-class features such as OTA (over-the-air), a voice command system, wireless charging, ventilated seats, automatic panoramic sunroof, WiFi hotspot, and an optional 14 speakers Meridian audio system, voice-activated dual-zone front AC among other.
