Micro-blogging platform Twitter on Tuesday suspended Kantara actor Kishore Kumar G’s Twitter account for violating rules. The actor is also a farmer’s rights activist and is known for voicing his opinions.

Kishore, who is known for playing prominent roles in the web series The Family Man: Season 1 and She, was highly active on the social media platform.

The exact reason behind the suspension of Kishore Kumar G’s account is not known. However, the account displays the message “Account suspended. Twitter suspends accounts that violate the Twitter Rule” if a user searches for his Twitter handle.

Kishore, who played the role of upright forest officer Muralidhar in the Kannada film Kantara, had earlier taken to Instagram and termed December 30 a “Black Day” for a free press and Indian democracy after the Adani group gained full control of news broadcaster NDTV.

Prior to this, the 48-year-old actor had supported the controversial statement made by the actor Sai Pallavi that the 1990s exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and Muslim murders were similar.

Speaking during the interview, she stated that The Kashmir Files is a documentary that documents the assassinations of Kashmiri Pandits and compared this with a situation where a person was murdered for carrying a cow because he was thought to be a Muslim. After killing the victim, the attackers shouted Jai Shri Ram, stated Pallavi. Further, she questioned, Where is the difference between what happened in Kashmir and what happened recently? 

Her statement drew a variety of responses. While some people agreed with Pallavi, others pointed out that the two are not the same. Kishore, on the other hand, had questioned the media for criticizing the multiple award-winning actor and asked if it was illegal for celebrities to express opinions on social matters.

Kishore Kumar G is also active on Instagram and Facebook with more than 43,000 followers and over 66,000, respectively.
