A case has been registered against a woman cop for slapping her father-in-law in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar on Sunday.

The video of the same is going viral which shows the sub-inspector arguing with her father-in-law before repeatedly slapping him. The cop was seen accompanied by her mother who was also engaged in an argument.

The police officer and her father-in-law are reportedly involved in a legal dispute which was the reason for their argument.

A complaint has been filed against the cop for voluntarily causing harm under sections 323 and 427 of the IPC. No departmental action has been taken against the cop yet.

The cop who was caught slapping her father-in-law is currently posted in the Defence Colony police station.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Friday has given them permission to Laxmi Nagar’s main market from Vikas Marg to Kishan Kunj to Lovely Public School including surrounding markets to resume from Saturday. DDMA’S decision came after two days when the market was ordered to be shut till July 5 due to violation of Covid protocols and other Covid related guidelines.

DDMA (East)  held a meeting on July 2, where the authority instructed the traders and market association to follow all the Covid protocols like social distancing, wearing masks, etc.

Here are the new rules to be followed by traders, visitors and shopkeepers

1.The markets association has to ensure that all the traders follow Covid appropriate behavior, they have been asked by DDMA to educate vendors, visitors, traders about the Covid protocols.

2. Shopkeepers need to ensure that people who are coming to their shops should be wearing masks. Visitors who do not obey  Covid protocols should not be entertained by shopkeepers, DDMA said

3. Area police instructed to increase their personnel in markets and impose a heavy fine on those who violate Covid norms.

4. Officials have been asked to organise vaccination drives in the market for shopkeepers and vendors.

5. Officials have been asked to submit a status report on a regular basis about the Covid positivity rate in the market.

Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar markets are opening after a gap of two months, as they are witnessing a drop in Covid-19 infection. However, the traders’ bodies in the market said it is hard to maintain Covid protocols like social distancing as the crowd in the market often gets out of control.
