The Final match between France and Argentina which was played on Sunday, lived up to its anticipation as Messi and company went on to commit to the perfect script. The final match, which was played in Qatar’s Lusail Stadium, witnessed a historic final for generations to come. After going back and forth with the French team, the Argentinian’s came out as victors on Penalties.

The French led by goalkeeper Hugo Loris locked horns with the Lionel Messi-led Argentina and the final match, as many term it to be, turned into a historic match. Argentina in the first half looked to be the more inspired and driven team as they successfully went on to score 2 goals with the help of Lionel Messi’s penalty and Angel Di Maria’s clinical finish.

The second half also saw much of the same trend in the Argentinian side turning out to be the dominating side, however, the French star striker wasn’t ready to be written off without going down without a fight. The 24-year-old Kylian Mbappe inspired his team for a comeback as he converted a penalty in the 80th minute and then again rapidly kept the spell going and scored another beautiful volley in the 81st minute forcing the match into extra time.

The dramatical World Cup final continued the similar spell in the extra time of 15 minutes each as one of the greatest to ever play the game once again stepped up to the plate to deliver for his team. Messi’s goal recorded in the 108th minute was expected to be the decisive goal in putting the French side’s World Cup dream to sleep, however, Kylian Mbappe refused to relent and found the net after winning a penalty to force the game into Penalties.

The nail-biting and historical World Cup Final left the fans across the world on the edge of their seats as they saw Argentina script history as this was the first time Argentina won the world cup since 1978.

Aside from winning the World Cup, The Argentinian side also bagged individual awards as Lionel Messi won the Golden Ball or player of the tournament, whereas Enzo Fernandez won young player of the tournament. Argentina’s goalkeeper Emi Martinez also fittingly won the goalkeeper of the tournament with his iconic bout throughout the World Cup campaign.

For the French Side, the 24-year-old striker, Kylian Mbappe won the golden boot after scoring the hattrick against Argentina and having an overall 12 goals in the tournament.
