The International Cricket Council has unveiled a new logo for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup on Thursday. The logo’s distinctive pattern pays tribute to the palm trees of the West Indies and the stripes of the USA for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 where 20 teams will compete against each other in over 55 matches in June 2024.

The ICC issued a statement on thursday that the pinnacle of international T20 cricket just got a vibrant makeover as the new visual identity for the ICC T20 World Cup was unvieled. This global sporting event known for its fast paced action and electrifying moments will now be represented by a dynamic brand identity that captures the essence of the game’s relentless energy.

The emblem combines a bat, ball and energy to represent the fundamental aspects of T20 cricket creatively. The T20 lettering has gone dynamic changes, forming a swinging bat enclosed within a lively ball. The visual depiction emphasizes the intensity in each ball bowled which shows how a single bat swing can impact a game.

The strike graphic within the ball reflects the distinctive atmosphere and vibrant energy of International T20 World Cup matches, featuring a zig- zag pattern which suggests increasing excitement and heart pounding moments, similar to a lightning strike. The logo is created from three things that define T20 cricket – bat, ball and energy!

The brand identity will incorporate textures and patterns inspired by the host country for each World Cup edition. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is going to take place next year from September to October in Bangladesh. ICC General Manager – Marketing and Communications, Claire Furlong said the ICC men’s T20 World Cup promises to deliver an electrifying and edge of your seat experience to cricket fans all over the world. He said the ICC hoped the new visual identity reflects that vision and energy.

Prominent airline Air India posted the first image of its aircraft on Saturday after changing its name, logo, and livery after being acquired by the Tata Group.

Air India uploaded images of its A350 aircraft parked in a paint shop in Toulouse, France, on X, formerly known as Twitter. This winter, the jet will touch down in India.

As part of its rebranding effort, Air India earlier in August announced its new logo and colour palette.

The new logo, which features a more stylized style and a new colour scheme of red, white, and purple, is a contemporary interpretation of the airline’s well-known Maharaja mascot.

The strong red lettering of Air India is still present in the new colour scheme but is in a different font. Air India is written in white in a red area on the underside of the aircraft as part of the colour scheme.

According to the airline, the new livery and design of the aircraft incorporates a pattern that is inspired by the chakras and a colour scheme of deep red, aubergine, and gold highlights.

The airline’s previous logo, which depicted a red swan embellished with the recognisable orange Konark Chakra, has been replaced.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran stated the new logo signifies limitless possibilities at the time of unveiling it.

In January 2022, Tata Sons bought Air India through Talace Private Limited, an entirely owned subsidiary. Later, it was revealed that Air India and Vistara, a different Tata Sons division, will be combined to form a more cohesive organisation. By March 2024, this merger is expected to be finished.

During a two-day conference in Mumbai, leaders of the opposition INDIA group are expected to announce the formation of a coordination committee and reveal the alliance’s logo.

The leaders of the alliance will also announce a few panels to draw a shared minimum program for the alliance, to frame collaborative preparations for organising agitations around the country, and to discuss seat sharing at the conclave, which will be placed on August 31 and September 1.

RJD leader Manoj Jha said, the Mumbai meeting would produce a clear-cut plan for offering a progressive alternative to the existing regime’s regressive policies.

The INDIA group is also anticipated to reveal a secretariat for effective communication among the members. The nation’s capital is most likely where it will be located.

The participants will also talk about whether the alliance needs a coordinator or chairperson as its leader.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra has been busy making preparations for the conference over the past few days.

There are rumours that at the 26-party opposition alliance’s conference in Mumbai, the third in a series of gatherings conducted in Patna and Bengaluru, more regional outfits will join.

Before the conclave, Congress leader Milind Deora said, with the exception of a few states that need more time, most seat distribution among alliance partners for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is more-or-less finalised.

Deora, who plays a key role in planning the meeting, praised the evolving chemistry between the INDIA bloc members and said Maharashtra was the best example of it.

A number of committees have been formed by the Maha Vikas Aghadi, which consists of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Congress, to plan different parts of the meeting of the opposition bloc.

The opposition INDIA alliance is coming together for the first time in a state where none of the other bloc members are in administration. The meeting would be primarily focused on unity.

The logo, theme and website of India’s G20 presidency was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

The symbol of India’s compassion toward the rest of the globe is “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam.” The lotus symbolises India’s cultural history and belief in uniting the world, Modi remarked.

In his address, he noted that “India is now about to take the leadership of the G20; it’s a matter of great opportunity for India in its 75th year of Independence,” adding that it is a source of pride for all Indians and will bring greater glory for all of the residents of the country.

Modi added that each post-independence government and the Indian people have made a unique contribution to the development of India. “We must advance with new vigour and carry the world with us,” he continued.

The G20 presidency presents India with a special chance to contribute to the global agenda on urgent problems of international significance, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated on Monday.

According to the statement, the G20 presidency of India’s logo, theme, and website would represent the nation’s message and overarching priorities to the rest of the globe.

On December 1, India will take over as the head of the influential alliance from current chair Indonesia. An intergovernmental meeting of the world’s leading developed and emerging economies is known as the G20 or Group of 20. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union (EU)are all included.

The G20 is the top platform for worldwide economic cooperation, encompassing over two-thirds of the world’s population, over 75 per cent of global trade, and 85 per cent of the global GDP. Over  will host 200 meetings in 32 distinct industries at various venues all over the country. The G20 Summit, which will take place in 2019, will be one of the most important international events that India will host.
