A video of a coaching teacher at Drishti IAS is doing rounds on the internet and might have irked social media users. The teacher, Vikas Divyakirti, in the video, could be heard talking about Lord Rama and Sita.

In the viral video, Divyakirti clarifies that he was reading out the text and he himself finds it offensive. He went on to say that Lord Rama told his wife Sita about why he fought Ravana. He had said that the war was fought for his clan and not for her and she was not worth him anymore.

After the video went viral, Twitter users called to ban Drishti IAS and slammed the teacher for insulting Hinduism and making false stories about Lord Rama and Sita. A section of social media users came in support of the teacher and defended his statements.

Prachi Sadhvi, a Hindu political activist, demanded the government ban the Drishti IAS centre. A BJP worker, Arun Yadav also demanded to ban the centre for insulting Sanatan Dharma.

On the other hand, one user defended the teacher and argued that he clarified that he was reading out from a text. Another user said Drishti IAS and Vikas Divyakirti have made nay IAS, IPS, and other social workers.

Drishti IAS is a civil services coaching centre in New Delhi that provided guidance to prepare exams conducted by UPSC and other Provincial Civil Services Exams conducted by Public Service Commissions of various states including Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

It was one of the most-watched mythological shows during that time and was re-telecasted during the coronavirus pandemic on Doordarshan. The show ended, however, the love for its stars is still fresh.

In this episode, a video is doing rounds on the internet wherein a woman spotted Arun Govil, who played Lord Rama in Ramayana, at the Mumbai airport and what happened next is not only endearing but also heart-warming.

In the now-viral video, the woman could be seen kneeling down and touching the feet of Arun Govil. Moreover, she removed her slippers while paying obeisance. The video was shared by multiple users on Twitter and has garnered immense love.

Soon after the video went viral, users reacted to it and thanked Arun Govil for playing Lord Rama. One user wrote the video shows the purity of heart. Another user wrote this type of fan following is only possible in India.

A section of social media users also called it idiotic as Govil just essayed the role of Lord Rama.

Ramayana was telecasted on Doordarshan every Sunday and garnered the highest ratings for a Hindi GEC show since 2015. The mythological show is based on the ancient Hindu epic of Lord Rama and his journey of fourteen years of exile along with his wife Sita and younger brother Laxman.

The show starred Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhalia, Sunil Lahri, and Arvind Trivedi in the lead roles. It also featured Hanuman by the late Dara Singh, Sanjay Jog, late Vijay Arora, Sameer Rajda, late Mulraj Rajda, and late Lalita Pawar.
