Due to the major surge in international fuel prices, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have now again hiked the price of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 15, the new rates of the cylinders are now effective from Wednesday.

Now, in the revised rates, a non-subsidised 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 899.50. Earlier, the price of a non-subsidised 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi was Rs 884.50. The small cylinder that is of 5kg will be sold at Rs 502.

This is the fourth time when the price of the LPG went high in two months. Earlier, on October 1, the price of subsidised and non-subsidised LPG prices was increased by Rs 25 per cylinder.

Meanwhile, the price of international fuel also increased again on Wednesday, the increase in price was caused because of the rise in prices in the international market. In the recent week, the petrol price hiked by Rs 30 paise per litre and diesel price surged by Rs 35 per litre. Now, the price of petrol is Rs 102.94 per litre and the diesel price is Rs 91.42 per litre.

Apart from this, the global benchmark Brent surged to $82.53 per barrel. On the other hand, West Texas Intermediate surged by $78.87 a barrel.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that the country is looking at a looming coal crisis. According to reports, the thermal plant stock that is available is only for three days. Power Minister Raj Kumar Singh told a newspaper that power demand in October is usually low because of the cool weather but this time, because of the lingering heat and humidity, it will be touch and go.
