A video of Lucknow, after water logged roads were drained dry, shows the residue of waste on the road that the waterlogging carried with it. The video has been making rounds on the internet as many people were left shocked to see how the roads were which were submerged under water are now submerged in waste.

In the video, a car on a road can be seen trying to shuffle past the waste on the road, but after learning that it is impossible to do so, the driver is seen to be putting the car in reverse and going back. The video uploaded by a twitter user wrote and remarked that this is the situation of Lucknow’s roads after receiving heavy rainfall.

Many tweeple came forward and reflected a state of shock after watching the video of the situation of Lucknow roads. One Twitter user who couldn’t believe his eyes said that this is not Lucknow, this is Africa. Whereas another user wittily remarked that if the car in the video had a double engine the car would have gotten past the waste residue,  trenchantly making fun of the double engine statement by the BJP government,

Lucknow received incessant rainfall on Saturday due to which many schools and public places were closed and even reports of a wall collapsing, which led to 9 deaths, had ensued. Many Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow districts, after receiving 160 mm of rainfall, were knee deep in water. Many homes and neighborhoods were subjected to waterlogging throughout the area. 

In the wake of water logging, on Friday, the Lucknow district administration had issued a warning of the possibility of rain continuing till Saturday, and told the public that all of them should take full precaution, beware of old dilapidated buildings and leave houses when it is absolutely necessary. The District Administration also suggested avoiding crowded and traffic jam areas and also asked the people to stay away from open sewers, electric wires, and poles.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Aditiyanath, had ordered the officials to observe and carry out relief work, and make sure that monetary help is reached in the flood affected areas including the houses that had been damaged or whose pets have died due to the flooding.

The kins of those who died in the wall collapse incident in Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, will receive a monetary compensation of Rs 4 lakh and for the people who were injured, they will receive Rs 2 lakh for the treatment of the injured.
