A new variant of coronavirus has been reported in 38 countries and amidst this, countries are taking precautions to avoid the third wave of the coronavirus. Indian states have also released fresh guidelines to curb the spread of the virus and they have also restricted the entry of some people into public places.

On Saturday, Tamil Nadu’s Madurai announced that unvaccinated people will not be given entry in malls, shopping complexes, hotels, and other public spaces from next week.

Madurai District Collector Aneesh Sekhar told news agency ANI that a week’s time has been given to people to get at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, and if they fail to do so then they will not be allowed to enter public places like hotels, shopping malls and other public spaces.

Earlier, Karnataka reported two cases of Omnicron and they released fresh guidelines to curb the spread of the virus. Apart from this, other states like Kerala also released guidelines for unvaccinated people and said that the state government will not provide them free vaccination if they choose to remain unvaccinated.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the daily that the government will not bear treatment costs for those who haven’t taken vaccine shots. Those who are reluctant to take the vaccine on account of allergy or any disease should produce a certificate issued by a doctor in government service.
