Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the CBSE class 12 exams have been cancelled, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced after chairing a crucial meeting on Class 12 board exams today evening. PM Modi said that the decision on the Class 12 CBSE board exams had been taken in the interest of students due to the uncertain situation created due to the pandemic.

The Prime Minister was briefed about all the possible options for Class 12 students. Youngest Nobel Laureate and activist Malala Yousafzai featured on the cover of Vogue magazine (July edition 2021) and she ‘thrilled and humbled’ about it. Vogue magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Edward Enninful, also shared her photos on his Instagram page and wrote that she is one of the women who inspire him. Amid coronavirus pandemic, India’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew at 1.6 per cent in the January-March quarter of fiscal year 2020-21, but witnessed a contraction of 7.3 per cent for the entire fiscal year, showed government data on Monday.

This is the first full-year contraction in the Indian economy in the last four decades since 1979-80, when GDP had shrunk by 5.2 per cent. This is also the second straight quarter of expansion since India exited a rare recession. India’s GDP figures showed the growth at 3 per cent in Q4 of FY20, while growth for FY20 came at 4 per cent, an 11-year low.
