A story has come to light from Delhi’s Roop Nagar region where a man stole his father’s gun from his cupboard in order to take it to a party to impress friends. According to reports, the man has been arrested and was identified as Harsh.

Harsh is a resident of Maujpur and the police learned about the issue on Sunday.

The police were tipped about some people brandishing a gun at Shakti Nagar Chowk’s red light through a caller. After learning about the matter, the police rushed to the spot and nabbed down the suspect who was seen carrying a gun.

The Deputy Police Commissioner Sagar Singh Kalsi has informed the media that a country-made pistol which was loaded with one cartridge was retrieved from the suspect. Kalsi added that the accused claimed that he had stolen the pistol from his father’s cupboard in the house and came to the party with his friends.

The 22-year-old man was chased down by police while the man was on returning to his home and was waiting for a lift near the red light area.

The 22-year old has had a history of cases of Arms act registered against him previously in Jafrabad Police station, said the police.

Pistol ownership

According to reports, the pistol was registered in the name of a Security Guard Rakesh Solanki, who works with a property dealer Yogender Kumar who is the father of the suspect. Reports suggest that the Security guard had given the gun to Kumar as he was leaving for his village two days ago.

Another case

Another case was reported in Delhi’s Dwarka, where a man had thrown acid on a school girl’s face and fled the scene. According to reports, the two sisters would often use Metro to commute to school, however, one day 2 bike-borne men had intercepted the sisters going to school as the bike borne-man threw acid on the girl’s face.

The video of the incident was captured on the CCTV camera after which the police were able to nab down the suspects and arrest them. The police have arrested Sachin Arora and his two friends Harshit Aggarwal and Virender Singh
