The official teaser for Sidharth Malhotra-Rashmika Mandanna starrer Mission Majnu was released on several social media platforms on Friday evening.

The fans poured their hearts out on social media after watching the power-pack teaser on Twitter and Instagram.

The teaser begins with a voice over showing army combat scenes when Pakistan had lost to India thrice in a war and was now planning a nuclear attack on India. The teaser shows the story of a heroic RAW agent, whose name is not mentioned in the pages of history.

Then enters the film’s star Sidharth Malhotra, shattering the window glasses of a moving train, making leaps over different bogies of the train. The actor wore a brown Kurta paired with a Nehru-jacket, in first look of the 1-minute-20-seconds-long teaser.

“I will do anything to protect India,” is the Sidhartha Malhotra’s dialogue when most of his fans got goosebumps.

Rashmika Mandanna will also be seen in the lead role opposite to Sidharth Malhotra. The film has been co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amar Butala, and Garima Mehta. The film has been directed by Shantanu Bagchi, who earlier directed Thank God and Student of the Year.

Mission Majnu will begin streaming exclusively on Netflix, skipping the traditional theatrical release, on January 20.

While movie theatres in India may be fully booked, the box office chances for low and medium budget films are dwindling, forcing them to release on OTT platforms.

Despite the fact that these movies with bankable stars were intended for theatres, Alia Bhatt’s Darlings, Mohanlal’s 12th Man, and Kangana Ranaut’s Tiku Weds Shiru chose to debut online.

Anek, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Runway 34, among other recent films that failed to bring viewers to theatres, performed poorly, underscoring the fact that only big-budget entertainers are making the cash registers ring.
