Bollywood is one of the major sources of entertainment across the world. From Indonesia to Pakistan, the craze for Hindi films is not hidden. In this episode, a Pakistani actor, Muneeb Butt recently hit headlines after he booked an entire theatre in Dubai to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt.

Muneeb booked the theatre for his wife, Aiman Khan. The video of the same is doing rounds on social media and winning hearts.

As per reports, Muneeb along with his wife and daughter Amal Muneeb is currently enjoying their romantic vacation in Dubai. In the video, Muneeb can be heard talking to his wife and saying that he has booked the entire theatre for you and if Gangubai turns out to be a monotonous film, then they should watch out for their fates.

Who is Muneeb Butt?

The Pakistani actor, Muneeb Butt, predominantly works in Urdu cinema and TV. Born into a Kashmiri family, he made his acting debut with Humnasheen. He is popular for shows like Baandi, Koi Chand Rakh, Daldal, Kaisa Hai Naseeban, Baddua, Qarar, and Yaariyan.

Butt tied the knot with his co-star Aiman Khan. The couple had worked together in daily soaps Bay Qasoor, Googly Muhalla, Khatoon Manzil, Khwab Saraye, and Baandi. Muneeb and Aiman are one of the most-loved on-screen couples in the Urdu entertainment industry.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt starter Gangubai Kathiawadi entered the 100-crore club and emerged as a blockbuster hit. Co-starring Ajay Devgn, Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by S Hussain Zaidi. The plot of the film revolves around a girl from Kathiawad who was forced into prostitution. The film also premiered at Berlinale Speciale Gala Section at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival.

Pakistani celebrities including singer-songwriter Ali Zafar, actor Humayun Saeed and several others voiced their support for legendary former speedster Shoaib Akhtar after his altercation on a PTV show with anchor Dr Nauman Niaz Tuesday night. He walked off the show set after being insulted by the anchor.

Many came to Akhtar’s defense after the incident, including celebrities such as Mawra Hocane, Ali Zafar Momina Mustehsan and Humayun Saeed.

It was a very shocking thing to watch, when the PTV director, Nauman Niaz told Akhtar on air to leave the studio over a disagreement between Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. The host called Shoaib Akhtar over-smart and even rude for the disagreement.

Actor Muneeb Butt also took Twitter and asked why everyone feels it is necessary to behave like the prime minister of Pakistan.

Actors Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui took to Twitter to speak up as well and so did Senator Shibli Faraz.

Akhtar was a part of a show name Game On Hai alongwith guests West Indies batting legend Sir Vivian Richards, former England captain David Gower, former Pakistan women’s captain Sana Mir and former fast bowler Umar Gul.

The panel was discussing the Pakistan-New Zealand T20 World Cup match which Pakistan won by five wickets. In the discussion, Akhtar credited PSL’s Lahore Qalandars franchise for discovering Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf.

When Niaz called him over-smart, rude and asked to leave, Akhter then announced his resignation from PTV and said he could not continue with the programme because of how he was treated on national television before walking off.

PTV’s administration took notice and formed a committee to investigate the incident, according to a statement posted on its sports channel’s official Twitter account.
