The song Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s film RRR has been nominated for the Oscars Award 2023 in the Best Original Song category.

The 95th Academy Awards nominees have been revealed, and it comes as no surprise that RRR has been recognised for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu, which also received a Golden Globe nomination in the same category.

RRR joins a limited club of Indian films that have been nominated for Oscars, including Mother India, Salaam Bombay, and Lagaan for Best International Feature Film. If Naatu Naatu composer MM Keeravaani wins an Oscar in addition to his Golden Globe, he will join a group of Indian Oscar winners that includes Bhanu Athaiya, who won Best Costume Design for Gandhi, and AR Rahman, Gulzar, and sound engineer Resul Pookutty, who won Oscars for their work in Slumdog Millionaire, a British-made film set in India.

The Oscar nominations were announced by actors Riz Ahmed and Alison Williams. The 95th Academy Awards will be place on March 12 in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel, the talk show host, will host for the third time.
