Railway Minister Piyush Goyal shared a few artists’ impressions of how Delhi railway station will look like in the future once it is revamped as per the Central government’s plan. While sharing futuristic photos of Delhi’s railway station on his Twitter handle, Goyal said envisaging an enriched passenger experience with complete integration of different modes of transport.

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is all set to conduct virtual roadshows for six days on the redevelopment of the New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) project which will start from January 21 to January 26 with investors and developers from Singapore, Australia, Dubai, and Spain discussing the project concept and proposed transaction structure. RLDA said the roadshows will be organized on digital platforms.

The RLDA said the main purpose of organising the roadshow to engage with relevant stakeholders and real estate developers, infrastructure players and financial institutions from advanced geographies such as Europe, Australia and South Asia.

Prakash Dudeja, the Vice-Chairman of RLDA, said the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station is one of the important projects of the nation. Dudeja said the new station will be built in such a way that it will boost tourism in the country.

Reports said the new station will be located next to Connaught Place, the prime commercial hub in the city. The project is expected to cost almost USD 680 million. The project offers multiple revenue streams to the developer, including revenue from real estate rights and is slated to be completed in four years, the RLDA said. It further said that the project is currently at the request for qualification stage with the due date as of February 2.
