A fire broke out at a residential building in New Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar today at around 3:30 pm. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Five fire tenders rushed to the spot after receiving the information. Efforts are being made by the fire department to extinguish the fire. A rescue operation is underway to evacuate the trapped residents.

According to the fire department official, up to 12 people have been rescued so far.

In the video, it can be seen that smoke is emitting from a three-storey building. The fire mainly broke out on the first floor

Reportedly, no casualties have been reported so far.

A local said that the building which is located near the metro station New Ashok Nagar caught fire today afternoon. Due to smoke and fire, the condition of those stuck within the building is bad. A wooden ladder is placed outside the building to evacuate the trapped people.

Earlier in May, a fire was reported at an Atlantis banquet hall in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar, killing one person. Ten fire tenders reached the incident spot as soon as they received the information about the same. During the rescue operation, one person lost his life.
