The leader of the Ram Temple movement and former MP Ram Vilas Das Vedanti has demanded the arrest of The Week editor for publishing obscene images of Hindu gods in his magazine.

Vedanti has requested all Hindu saints to come on a common platform and condemn it. He also demanded strict action against the editor and the owner of Chennai-based The Week magazine.

Raising his concern about obscene images of Hindu gods, he said that there was an international conspiracy of spreading disbelief against Hindu gods. He accused terrorists were giving funds for creating these conspiracies.

Demanding immediate action against this magazine, the former MP urged all Shankaracharyas, Ramanandacharyas and patrons of all sects to unite and lodge a protest with the Prime Minister and the President.

Columnist Bibek Debroy, who wrote the article ‘A Tongue of Fire’ for The Week on July 24, heads the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council. He has quit from the magazine. He criticized the use of the tantra-based images by the magazine. He said that it was a tenuous link between the content of the article and the picture.

 Historical images of Lord Shiva and Goddess Kali were used for the article in the magazine. The images of Kali and Shiva were illustrations of Kangra painting from Himachal Pradesh.

Many people think that it was an obscene image. On August 5, a case was registered in a Kanpur police station against the editor and management of the magazine over the alleged obscene images.

In a complaint, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state vice-president  Prakash Sharma accused that it has hurt the religious feelings of the Hindu community.

On Tuesday, A woman student of Bihar’s Lalit Narayan Mithila University made some serious allegations against her professor for sending obscene photos and calling at night. She alleged that assistant principal Akhilesh Kumar sent her obscene chats and photos.

She said the principal forced her many times to come to his house. But she didn’t go there. He sent her several messages repeatedly. She ignored his call. But still, he was calling her. He also called her on WhatsApp so that she could not record the call.

The student accused the professor had bad intentions and bad character. He only used to praise himself. He allegedly called her to his house for giving the notes.

The women students have given written complaints to the vice-chancellor as well as the head of the department.

Some students alleged that he threatened them to disturb the result too. They said if action is not taken after their complaint they would stage a dharna.  

Akhilesh Kumar is an assistant principal of the Hindi department at Lalit Narayan Mithila University. However, he denied the allegations made against him and said that he was falling prey to the conspiracy of some people at the university.

Dismissing the allegations of sending obscene photos, he said that the photos had been edited. His face belongs to him while the rest of the body belongs to someone else. It was a conspiracy to defame him. He never called any student to his house at night.

The teacher said that students will regret this incident. They will understand that they have done wrong to their teacher.   

Without blaming the principal of the department for this conspiracy, Akhilesh said that the head of the department used to get his personal work done. In between, he stopped doing his personal work, which made him angry.

He claimed that some people were very angry because of his unique way of teaching and good behaviour towards students.
