The Ola electric scooter, which was launched on August 15 this year in two variants, S1 and S1 Pro, is now available for purchase through www.olaelectric.com. The company has chosen to open its purchasing window for customers a day ahead of the World Electric Vehicles Day to promote electric vehicles over conventional fossil fuel.

The company started taking bookings for scooters in July this year with a minimum refundable amount of Rs 499. Ola said they have received more than 1 lakh bookings on the first day itself. However, the company has not revealed the total bookings for EV scooters yet.

How to buy Ola electric scooter

Ola doesn’t have any authorized dealer in the country as of now, but the company has started selling the vehicle online. Those who are interested in buying the EV scooter can visit www.olaelectric.com and purchase the vehicle.

When interested customers will click on the Reserve tab, they need to choose between the two variants on offer. After selecting the variant, the website will ask the customers to choose the colour for the vehicle. Once the selection is done, one must put in the Ola-registered mobile number on the site and book the scooter by making the payment of Rs 499 online. Customers need to keep checking the wait list to check the status of their order.

Once the sale goes live in the evening, those customers who have pre-booked the vehicle will get an update on the paying of the remaining amount. Once the amount is paid, the company will directly deliver the vehicle to the customer’s doorstep. Ola said customers can claim the EV vehicles subsidy post-purchase.

Scooter range and battery

The company claims its EV scooter Ola S1 will run 121 kilometres on a single charge while Ola S1 Pro will run 181 kilometres.

S1 will take four hours and 48 minutes to fully charge the battery, S1 Pro can be fully charged in six hours and 30 minutes. Ola said they will soon plant charging points in 400 cities across India so that people can switch from fossil fuel to electric power without worrying about charging stations.
