Australia on Sunday added yet another ICC trophy to its bucket beating England by 71 runs at Hagely Oval in the final to secure a record-extending seventh ICC Women’s World Cup title.

The Australian Women were very dominant throughout the tournament and lift the trophy after winning 9 out of 9 games. Out of 12 World Cups, Australia has won 7 titles.

Australia’s wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy has dismantled the England bowlers and played an incredible knock of 170 runs in just 136 deliveries in the ICC Women’s World Cup final against England on Sunday at Oval, Christchurch. It is arguably the greatest in the history of World Cup cricket.

However, Healy had a special supporter in the stands as her husband and Australia speedster Mitchell Starc was cheering for her. While tweeple called her incredible knock of 170 runs is one of the greatest knocks in a world cup final.

The ICC posted a video on their official Instagram handle and captioned the post as Happiness is……cheering for your spouse at the #CWC22 final.

Earlier in the game, England have won the toss and decided to bowl first. With the help of Healy’s knock of 170 runs, Australia reached at a magnificent score of 356/5.

After reaching to century, the 32-year-old batter shifted gears and accumulated 70 more runs in just 38 balls to help Australia set a challenging 357-run target in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final. She had also scored 129 runs against West Indies in the ICC WWC semi-final.

Healy recorded the highest score in a Women’s World cup final and fifth-highest overall in the tournament’s history. She ended with 509 runs to her name in the 2022 World Cup, becoming the first women’s player to breach the 500-run mark in the tournament’s history. While her teammate Rachael Haynes comes second with 497 runs in the tournament.
