After petrol and diesel, the increase in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders has loosened the pockets of the common man. Amid the rise in the prices of domestic Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), an old video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi slamming the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for inflation is going viral on social media. In the video, PM Modi is heard saying that before heading for a vote, you must fold your hands and greet the gas cylinder placed at your home.

The video which is surfacing on the Internet is from the time when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Referring to the time when Congress said each family will be given a specified number of gas cylinders in a year and those who want beyond the specified limit will have to pay a little extra, PM Modi said that these people (the UPA government) have made gas cylinders more expensive by snatching gas cylinders.

Slamming the Congress government over the continuous rise in LPG prices, PM Modi in a 1.16-minute video said, tell me what the poor would eat if inflation keeps rising at this rate. Today the Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) had come here but he is not ready to speak the ‘M’ of mehangai (inflation). His arrogance is so profound that he refused to speak about inflation. Attacking the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for inflation, PM Modi said if you are dying because of inflation, then it’s your fate, PM Singh doesn’t care.

Modi is targeting the then Congress government in this video. He further says that the stove does not burn in the house of the poor, the child cries throughout the night, the mother sheds tears and the leaders of the country do not care for the poor, they have created a condition of poverty. Greet the cylinders placed at your home before going for a vote.

This video has started surfacing on the Internet after the BJP government increased the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 50 in various parts of the country.
