The war between Russia and Ukraine is now on its Day 13. The third round of negotiation talks was held between the two countries on Monday, March 7, which showed some tentative progress but failed to reach a deal on creating humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of citizens.

Russia has claimed that it will stop the ongoing invasion of Ukraine at once if its demand is met. Russia has demanded that Ukraine cease its military actions, modify its constitution to include neutrality, recognise Crimea as Russian territory, and recognise the separatist republics of Donetsk and Lugansk as sovereign states. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held telephonic conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and sought continued support from both countries for the evacuation of Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine.

In an ongoing war, Russian troops have attacked an evacuation bus and a number of villages in the Kyiv region claimed authorities. According to the reports, three people were wounded in the attack.

Blasts were reported on Monday in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, and Kharkiv, a second major city, according to Ukraine’s State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection. Zhytomyr, a city in northern Ukraine, was also hit by missiles overnight, said Ukrainian Ground Forces command on Facebook.

Russian forces blow up gas pipeline in Kharkiv

In the military operation, Russia blew up the gas pipeline in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. Iryna Venediktova, Ukraine’s top prosecutor, stated Russian soldiers have been unable to capture Kharkiv, where a fierce battle is currently happening. The city has a population of 1.5 million and is located 40 kilometers from the Russian border.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris will be illuminated with the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag as a sign of unity after the Russian forces’ invasion, according to the landmark’s operator. Air India to evacuate Indians stranded in Ukraine; flight to land in Mumbai today

In the midst of Ukraine’s continuing crisis with Russia, an Air India evacuation flight from Romania carrying Indian passengers has been evacuated. The flight will arrive in Mumbai at 4 pm on Saturday.  At the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Union Minister Piyush Goyal will welcome the evacuees. Around 1,200 Maharashtra students are stranded in war-torn Ukraine, said the state rehabilitation minister.

Indian Embassy in Kyiv issues advisory, asks Indians not to proceed towards border without coordination

The government of India has been arranging flights for bringing Indian workers and students to the country stuck in Ukraine. And now, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv has advised the Indian citizens to not move to any other border posts without prior coordination with the Indian government officials.
