The 3rd Test match between India and South Africa resumed on day 3 after day 2 of the game washed out due to heavy rain. Virat Kohli-led Indian team started the match from 272-3 and collapsed to 327/10. Team India lost 7 wickets in the span of 55 runs in the first session of day 3.

Test vice-captain and star opening batsman KL Rahul, who was not out on day 1 at 122, was dismissed by speedster Kagiso Rabada at 123. While Ajinkya Rahane who was on the other end of the wicket lost his wicket at his personal score of 48 runs.

Lungi Ngidi, who had taken all three wickets on day 1 of the Centurian Test, took three more wickets on day three and completed his fifer (24-71-6), while the other pace bowler Rabada scalped three wickets, including KL Rahul.

For India, the highest scorer on day 3 was no.10 batsman Jasprit Bumrah (14), who was dismissed by his Mumbai Indians teammate Macro Jansen. The Men in Blue wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant once again failed to impress with his batting and got dismissed at 8 by Ngidi.
