A chilling story has come from Bihar’s Darbhanga, where a woman was beaten by a mob mercilessly after branding her as a witch. After the death of a two-and-a-half-year-old child in the district, a furious mob tied her to an electric pole and accused her of being a witch. No one came to her rescue. Instead, a few of them even made a video.

The video went viral on September 30, after which the matter came to the fore. The incident is being reported on September 27. This whole matter is from the Sakatpur police station area of ​​Darbhanga.

Reportedly, people thrashed her and laid her on the ground after removing all her clothes. Not only this, but they also put the child’s body on her naked body and started asking the woman to bring him alive. People were ready to burn her alive by sprinkling petrol on her, but the police reached the spot at that time.

The police immediately admitted the woman to DMCH, where she is undergoing treatment. The boy’s body has been sent for postmortem for further investigations.

According to the reports, a two-and-a-half-year-old child named Ayush suddenly disappeared from his house while playing on September 25. Ayush’s family searched for him in nearby areas round the clock for two days, and on September 27, the child’s body was found in a semi-constructed house near his own home.

The whole commotion started as soon as the body was found. Following this, a huge crowd gathered and called a woman living next door a witch. Reportedly, people started saying that she hid the dead body after killing the child. After this, they tied her to an electric pole and beat her up.

The condition of the woman is stable now. The officials said at present, she is not in a position to speak.

SSP Avkash Kumar said the reason behind the child’s death will only be known after the postmortem report comes. He said the matter is severe and the forensic investigation team is also looking into this matter.

The police have registered two separate FIRs on the incident. One has been registered for the murder of a child, and the second FIR has been lodged against those who beat up the woman. Police are trying to identify the people who beat up the viral video.
