German carmakers Volkswagen is all set to launch its much-awaited car Taigun in India in September this year. This is the second big launch by Volkswagen after the Skoda Kushaq. Reports said the company might start accepting the booking of the car by mid-August 2021.

Before the global launch of Taigun in India, the car has been spied in many cities and districts in India.

Expected design and features of Taigun 2021

According to the spy shots, it seems like Taigun will be slightly bigger than Skoda Kushaq. The carmakers have made some cosmetic changes in the upcoming Taigun, the car may come with LED taillights, reflective strips running across the length of the tailgate which will give the car a premium look. The customers can expect halogen treatment in the front fog lamps, there will be single-piece headlights, two slat chrome grilles and a chrome insert on the lower part of the bumper.

Features

The car will hit the road with loaded features like a big and redesigned 10-inch infotainment system that will support Apple, Android and Auto CarPlay. The top variant will come with My Volkswagen connect app, USB Type-C ports, automatic climate control, multi-functional steering wheel, cruize control mode and wireless charging pad.

There are reports that Taigun could beat Kushaq in terms of digital instrument cluster design as the company might offer a big cluster screen in Taigun.

Safety

The carmakers will provide six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, tire pressure deflation warning, seat belt reminder voice assist and much more.

Engine and gearbox options

The carmakers will offer Taigun in two TSI turbo-petrol engine options. The 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine is likely to generate 115 horsepower with 175Nm of torque.

The car will also come with 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine which will produce 150hp and 250Nm. Both engines options will have a 6-speed manual gearbox option as standard.

Price

The carmaker will launch the Taigun 2021 at the starting price of Rs 10.50 lakh and the top variant will go to Rs 17 lakh.

Rivals

The upcoming midsize SUV will compete against Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta,  Nissan Kicks, and with its own brand Skoda Kushaq.
