The Indian automobile company Tata Motors today (August 31) has launched one of its much-awaited cars Tata Tigor EV at the price of Rs 11.99 lakh – 13.14 lakh (ex-showroom).

Many people were raising their fingers at Tata’s new EV in terms of its safety, but the car has silenced all the haters as it has achieved 4-star rating in Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). Tigor EV is the first EV car that has been tested by the GNCAP in car crash test and achieved a decent rating.

The company has launched the Tigor EV in three variants- XE, XM. Check out the price as per the variants below.

XZ+                          Rs 12.99 lakh ( Rs 13.14 lakh for the dual-tone option)

President of Tata motors business unit, Shailesh Chandra said, the vehicle is built with Ziptron Technology and it will benefit those buyers who are looking for trusted EVs in the market.

Tata Tigor EV range

The company claims that the Tigor EV is capable to cover the 306 km on a single full charge.

The EV comes with two charging sockets, one is used for fast charging and another one is used for a normal 15A home socket. According to the company, the car can be 80% charged by using on a fast-charging in an hour but it will take around eight hours with using a normal charging socket.

Tata Tigor EV battery details

The newly launched EV vehicle comes with an IP67 rated 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack combined with an electric motor. The electric powertrain produces 73.75 horsepower with 170 Nm of peak torque.

The company is providing an eight-year and 160,000 km battery warranty. The customers can extend their warranty period by paying some extra amount.

Tata Tigor EV safety features

The car comes with ABS with EBD, dual airbags, Corner Stability Control, Hill Ascent Control, Hill Descent Control and whatnot.
