The profession of a teacher is considered to be of utmost respect in India. But a case has come to the fore in Hathras that contrasts the previous statement.

In a bizarre incident, a video of a primary government school teacher in Uttar Pradesh drinking alcohol in a class full of students has gone viral on social media. The incident was reported from DRV Inter College of Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district.

In the video, assistant teacher Shailendra Singh Gautam can be seen teaching a class full of students. And in the classroom, he is enjoying a can of beer while teaching the students. The accused teacher, while lashing out at the person who recorded the video of the incident, says make as many videos as you want. It won’t affect me, he added.

DM suspends the accused teacher

Taking cognizance of the matter, the District Magistrate has ordered the concerned officials and the school principal to take stern action against the teacher. Meanwhile, the accused teacher has been suspended and a probe into the matter has been initiated.

School Operator, Swatantra Kumar Gupta, has suspended the assistant teacher, considering him prima facie guilty. Swatantra Kumar Gupta said that the teacher has been suspended and that the matter will be investigated further.

Three-member committee to investigate the case

A three-member committee will investigate the matter. It was learned that the video of Assistant Teacher Shailendra Singh Gautam, who is accused of consuming alcohol in front of the students, was appointed in the Primary Wing of this school in 2015. The incident took place on Friday, September 30. There will be a meeting of the managing committee in this regard and a three-member committee will investigate the whole matter.
