Suriya’s latest release Jai Bhim is setting up milestones for films to come. The film, inspired by true events faced by the tribal community, received an IMDb rating of 9.3 out of 10. With a Golden Globe 2022 nomination, the film is also expected to dominate National Awards as well. Now, the appeal of the film, directed by TJ Gnanavel, has reached Oscars as well.

According to the description, Jai Bhim weaves in genuine case studies lead by Activist-Lawyer Chandru, who delivered justice to indigenous tribes in Tamil Nadu through his tireless efforts. TJ Gnanavel, the film’s writer-director, explains how the tale was conceived and realised.

Jai Bhim is the first Tamil film ever to achieve this honour. Fans have constantly been sharing their joy and feeling of pride on social media. Important political figures such as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Thol Thirumavalavan, and MNM leader Kamal Haasan have all expressed their admiration as well.

Previously, the film got nominated for the Golden Globes in the category of Best Non-English Language Film for the year 2022.

Jai Bhim released on November 2, 2021, on Amazon Prime. The film released under the banner 2D entertainment, and is produced by Suriya and Jyothika. The film features Lijomol Jose, Manikandan and Suriya is lead roles. The supported cast includes Tamizh, Guru Somasundaram, Rajisha Vijayan, Kumaravel, Prakash Raj, and Ilavarasu.
