The much-anticipated trailer of Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has finally been released on Monday, February 21. The film revolves around the Kashmir Insurgency and the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the early 1990s. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi, among others, the film is set to release on March 11, 2022.

The trailer opens with displays of the terror that Kasmir was submerged in. Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty are seen in the role of Kashmiri Pandits with others, who are told to leave their home or succumb to the demands of their oppressors. The sheer panic that was placed deeply in the hearts of the Kashmiri Pandits then can be felt through the screen.

With the trailer, Vivek Agnihotri has assured his audience that they will go through a rollercoaster of emotions. He said that bringing the story of the Kashmir Genocide to the big screen is no easy feat and has to be handled with a great deal of sensitivity. He added that this film promises to be an eye-opener and with a talented ensemble cast, audiences can revisit this incident in Indian history through this raw and real narrative.

National Award winner Pallavi Joshi will also be seen in the film. She talked about the film and said that a movie is as good as its script, and with The Kashmir Files audiences can actually feel and endure the emotions that the characters go through. She added that as actors, everyone on the team completely got under the skin of their characters and committed to telling this shocking and saddening story.

The Kashmir Files will be released under the banner of Zee Studios, IAmBuddha and Abhishek Agarwal. The producers of the film are Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri.
