A day ahead of Holi, Delhi traffic police share an advisory so that people could celebrate the festival without any problem. Police also said that on the special; occasion, they have made some arrangements in order to provide extra safety for motorcyclists and pedestrians, ensuring that the city will remain witness a smooth traffic flow.

As per the advisory, more than 150 police personnel, more than 800 traffic police personnel and 9,000 local police staff will be deployed. All of them will keep an extra eye on everyone, ensuring that people do not commit or create a ruckus on road. Apart from this, an special team of security forces has been introduced, which will close watching 287 major intersections and 233 drunken and vulnerable points for Holi.

While sharing the safety arrangements news among people, Delhi traffic police tweeted that in view of the festival of Holi (Dhulendi) on March 08, 2023, elaborate traffic arrangements have been made by the Delhi Traffic Police. Please obey the traffic rules and enjoy the festival of joy.

Supreme Court also directed that if anyone will find violating the traffic rules, breaking road safety protocols, red-light jumping, drunken driving, tripling on a two-wheeler, using a mobile phone while driving, or over-speeding, they will be fined along with seizure driving license or both. Amid this, police requested every resident to drive as per the prescribed speed on road to avoid any accidents and asked them to Obey traffic signals.

On Thursday, August 11, 2022, Delhi police issued a traffic advisory as the 75th Independence Day gets closer. The traffic advisory was issued to avoid heavy traffic or halts on August 15 in the nation’s capital.

The traffic near the famous Red Fort will be closed for the general public from 4:00 am to 10:00 am, according to the notice in the advisory.

The traffic advisory has been issued by the Delhi police to maintain a smooth movement of traffic across the country’s capital. On August 15, approximately 10,000 security officers will be stationed all around the ancient Red Fort since Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to address the nation from its ramparts.

Re-routed Buses Routes for 15th August 2022

Buses will travel across the ISBT bridge (Yudhistir Setu) and stop at Boulevard Road close to the Mori Gate U-Turn for travel to Kauria Pul, Red Fort, and Old Delhi Railway Station.

All buses that would ordinarily end their routes at the Old Delhi Railway Station, Red Fort, Bhai Mati Dass Chowk, Mori Gate, ISBT, Pragati Maidan, and the Ambedkar Stadium Terminal shall end their routes opposite Turkman Gate on Asaf Ali Road.

Buses from South Delhi that are headed for the Red Fort, Old Delhi Railway Station, or Bhai Mati Dass Chowk will be rerouted and end up on Boulevard Road through the Ring Road-NH-24, Marginal Bandh (Pushta) Road, and the new ISBT Bridge, according to the traffic advisoy.

There is going to be massive traffic disruption on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway 48 today due to a proposed march from Kherki Daula toll plaza to Hero Honda Chowk which is in support of the demand for the creation of an Ahir Regiment in the Indian Army.

The Gurugram Traffic Police also issued an advisory due to this and they have mentioned the routes that people should avoid taking and should take today:

In the statement, it was mentioned that the highway section will be closed for traffic. Apart from this, commuters from Jaipur will be directed to Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) just before the Kherki Daula toll (Givo Cut) and can reach their destination via Sohna road.

People travelling from Delhi to Jaipur have been advised to use the alternate route.

They can use the Sohna road passing through the golf course, which will make it easier for them to reach their destination.

All vehicles will be diverted from Hero Honda Chowk to Subhash Chowk and Pataudi Road during March.

The entry of heavy goods carriers will be kept closed during this entire March.

Heavy goods carriers are advised to use Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway from Panchgaon if travelling from Delhi to Faridabad.

The statement further mentioned that for all heavy/goods vehicles, the road section will be closed for a full day. From Jaipur – all heavy/goods vehicles are advised to take Kundli Manesar Palwal (KMP) from Panchgaon to go to Delhi as well as Faridabad. Also, from Delhi, all heavy/goods vehicles are advised to take Sohna road and KMP.

In other news, Petrol, diesel prices have been increased for the second consecutive day and this time, it has surged over 80 paise a litre again.
