A sudden fire broke out in a truck full of medicines on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Etawah, after which the truck was completely gutted, the good thing is that the driver-operator jumped and saved their life.

There was a 4 kilometre jam on one side of the expressway. The police reached and smoothened the traffic. SP Rural Satyapal Singh said that the truck was full of medicines which was going from Guwahati to Jaipur. Then for some reason it caught fire and this truck was burnt to ashes.

Notably, at around 6:30 am on Sunday, a truck full of medicines was going from Guwahati to Jaipur on Etawah Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Near village Kurkha under Usrahar police station area, the truck suddenly caught fire. The driver and the conductor are safe after the accident, the police have pacified the traffic, as there was a gridlock after the accident.

Fire brought under control

The truck burst into flames on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. When the UPIDA team received information about the incident, Chief Fire Officer Tabarak Hussain along with his team reached the spot, after which the fire was brought under control. During this, there was a 4 kilometer long jam on the Agra Lucknow-Expressway. Vehicles on both sides were stopped from moving.

SP Rural Satyapal Singh, who reached the spot, also said that there has been no casualty of any kind in this incident.

A month back, in December 2022, due to dense fog in Etawah, two youth riding a bike collided with a school bus and died. After this, the villagers blocked the road for hours. SP City and SDM had to reach the spot, to pacify the matter and so that the legal proceedings could begin. Legal action was taken against the driver and the helper of the private school bus after taking them into custody.
