After Shivaay, actor-director Ajay Devgan is once again set to wear the director’s hat. This time, the actor will direct legend Amitabh Bachhan in his upcoming film titled Mayday. The film is reported to be a thrilling and edge-of-the-seat drama. 

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the big news on Twitter. Mayday will be directed and produced by Devgan under banner Ajay Devgan Films.

Devgan will be seen in the role of pilot, while the character of Bachhan has been kept under wraps. The remaining cast of the film is yet to be finalised. The filming will begin in December in Hyderabad.

Notably after seven years, Devgan will reunite with Bachhan. They were last seen together in the political drama Satyagraha directed by Prakash Jha. They had also shared screen space in action thriller  Khakee, which is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. 

In 2008 with romantic drama U Me Aur Hum, Devgan made his directorial debut. He also played the lead role along with his wife and actor Kajol in the film. Later in 2016, he directed action thriller Shivaay, which is considered the most expensive film of his production.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Devgan was last seen in Om Raut’s historical drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. His upcoming projects include Abhishek Dudhaiya’s war drama Bhuj:The Pride of India and  sports biography titled Maidaan helmed by Amit Ravindrenath Sharma. He will also be seen in  RRR, which is an upcoming Telugu-language period film, written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli.

On the other hand, Bachchan will next be seen in Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund which is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer. He will also be seen in a pivotal role in Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy film titled Brahmastra, which is believed to be the most expensive movie till date. The superstar also has in kitty the Rumi Jaffery’s Chehre, a mystery thriller produced by Anand Pandit.
