The BDS second year student, who jumped from the fourth floor of Subharti University, Meerut on Wednesday, took this dreadful step after she was molested and slapped by her classmate.

On Thursday, the police arrested the accused Siddhant Kumar Panwar after registering a case on the basis of the complaint of the girl’s father. SP (rural) Keshav Kumar said that the condition of the girl student remains critical.

A BDS student of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University jumped from the roof of the library on Wednesday. The girl has suffered two fractures in her spine and there is bleeding from her head. The girl is battling against death in the hospital.

SO Jani Rajesh Kamboj said that it is alleged that the girl’s classmate Siddhant caught her hand forcefully and molested the girl student. When the girl protested, the accused slapped her. Hurt by this, the girl jumped from the fourth floor to save her modesty.

Police have arrested Siddhant from Subharti University itself. The police have also informed his family, that lives in Haridwar, about the whole matter.

SP (rural) Keshav Kumar says that after regaining consciousness, the statement of the girl student will be recorded. Right now her condition is very critical. The police have taken footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the university. The picture of the girl getting slapped and jumping from the roof of the library was captured in it. All these facts will be included in the case. Police investigation is going on in all aspects.

The girl’s father said that till two o’clock on Tuesday night, the police officer remained on the university premises. Siddhant Panwar was taken into custody by the police in the night itself. The father said that he has full faith in law and that his daughter will definitely get justice. The whole family is praying for the daughter’s recovery.
