The high-voltage campaign for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Election came to an end on Monday. Voting for 71 constituencies in 16 districts will be held on October 28 in the first phase, 94 seats will be covered in the second phase on November 3 while 78 Assembly seats will be covered in the third phase of voting on November 7. Around 7.29 crore people are set to cast their votes in the state in this election. Of this, nearly 78 lakh will be first-time voters.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and BJP, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) combine, is contesting against the alliance of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress and Left parties in Bihar. Ahead of Bihar polls, PM Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed rallies for their respective alliances in Bihar. Leading the NDA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed 3 rallies where he urged voters to elect Chief Minister Nitish Kumar back to power. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed two rallies.

Top political leaders including Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Congress leaders Raj Babbar, Shatrughan Sinha, BSP chief Mayawati, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi have campaigned for their respective parties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other BJP star campaigners Yogi Adityanath and party president JP Nadda listed the Ram temple at Ayodhya, Article 370 and triple talaq as achievements of the government and also attacked the Opposition for opposing these.
