Taking yet another step in leveraging technology, the Indian Army with a motto of “Taking Care of Our Own, No Matter What” launched a single window facility named  ‘Veerangana Sewa Kendra’ for teh welfare and grievances of Veer Naris.

On November 10, the President of Army Wives Welfare Asscaiton (AWWA) launched this project on the premises of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) premises located at Delhi Court.

Indian Army is taking big steps for the welfare of the wives of martyrs. Veerangana Seva Kendra (VSK) window will be available on Indian Army Veterans Portal www.indianarmyveterans.gov.in. The wives of martyrs will be able to register their grievances on this window. Along with this, the applicant of complaints will also get the facility of tracking, monitoring and viewing regular feedback.

The army has given this information by issuing a statement. The army said that the kin of the martyrs and their wives will have multiple means to contact VSK through telephone, SMS, WhatsApp, post, e-mail and walk-in to seek assistance. Army informed that various stakeholders i.e. Record Office, Officer Record Office, ECHS, AWWA, Canteen Services Directorate, Colonel Veteran etc. can monitor the status of complaints through CRM software.

Army also informed that non-military stakeholders like Rashtriya Sainik Board (RSB), Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) and Zilla Sainik Board (ZSB) are being linked through e-mail with this scheme.

In its official statement, the Ministry of Defence also wrote that this project was driven by DIAV, AG’s Brnach and the technology solution has been developed by BISANG-N, while Hero MotoCorp has supported the project through their CSIR initiative.

In order to preserve a natural connection and empathy with the recipients, Veer Naris are employed as VSK staffers.The VSK is one its kind initiative by the Indian Army towards extending genuince care and support to its widows and Veer Naris and NoKs, the statement concluded.
