Former Indian cricketer and now commentator Vivek Razdan shared a fascinating story of former Indian captain Virat Kohli and West Indies greatest cricketer Sir Vivian Richards. The incident took place during the 2019 India tour of West Indies.

During the Tests and ODIs matches West Indies cricket arranges a huge flight so that everyone could travel together as the matches were being played in different islands. Hence the host decided to make such arrangements so that players from both the teams, board members and production crew could travel together.

 And after a match in Antigua, the teams had taken the flights for the next destination. Cricketers boarded the flight first, followed by the production crew. Later when the players were seated, Vivian Richards entered the flight along with his bag but couldn’t find a space in the overhead locker as it was full. He got a bit worried as check few other lockers for space, while everyone was sitting.

Suddenly, Virat Kohli got up and started shuffling everyone’s luggage. In the end, Virat kept his bag below the seat and made room for Sir Richards’s luggage. West Indies greatest cricketer was supremely impressed with Kohli. He patted Virat’s shoulder and said thank you for helping.

Let’s also not forget that back in 2019, Virat Kohli was not only the captain of Indian Cricket Team but was the biggest name in batting in world cricket. But moments like these give a forever token of memory to people. And Viv has always been in awe of Kohli the batter and captain.

Even when Virat stepped down as India’s Test captain, Sir Viv Richards gave his best to him. He tweeted and congratulated Kohli on his run as the test captain. Even at several platforms, Richards has said that he loves to Virat Kohli bat as he reminds Richards about his good old days.
