Amid the surge in Omicron cases in Delhi, the Delhi government has now enforced a yellow alert of the Graded Response Action Plan in the city. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials to discuss the current coronavirus situation in the city.

Kejriwal was quoted saying to news agency ANI that as the coronavirus positivity rate has been above 0.5 per cent for the past few days, the Delhi government is enforcing Level-1 (yellow alert) of the Graded Response Action Plan. He further said that a detailed order on the restrictions that will be implemented will release soon.

He also said that the new coronavirus cases that are reported in the state are mild. There was no increase in consumption of oxygen or use of ventilators despite the rise in Covid numbers.

What will remain closed during the yellow alert?

Cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes will remain closed.

The Banquet Hall, the auditorium will be closed.

Spas, gyms, yoga institutes and entertainment parks will remain closed.

Schools, colleges, educational institutions, and coaching institutes will be closed.

Social, political, religious, festival and entertainment-related activities will be banned.

What will remain open during the yellow alert?

The offices will remain open with 50 per cent capacity from 9 am to 5 pm.

Religious places will remain open but the entry of devotees will be restricted.

Public parks will remain open.

Only 2 passengers are allowed to travel in auto, e rickshaw, taxi and cycle rickshaw.

Buses going from one state to another will run with 50% seating capacity.

Salons and beauty parlours will remain open.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 331 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, the highest single-day rise since June 9. And, the positivity rate that was reported on Monday was 0.68 per cent, and it went up from 0.55 per cent a day before.
