With the spike in coronavirus cases in Delhi on Friday, Noida authorities on Wednesday decided to test visitors from Delhi for Covid-19 at random. The decision was taken during an online meeting of senior administration and health department officials with District Magistrate Suhas LY on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suhas said the Covid-19 test will be done at the Delhi-Noida border through rapid antigen tests which will give reports in 15 minutes. He said under this campaign, no borders will close and there will be no restrictions on the free movement of people between Noida and Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many Gautam Buddh Nagar health officials wearing personal protection equipment (PPE) were seen at the Noida-Delhi borders along with police personnel on Wednesday, where they have set up desks for coronavirus test on people through rapid antigen tests, which gives results in 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DM said due to the rising cases in Delhi, the effects is being felt in Gautam Buddh Nagar as well, which made officials to take this protective step. He said a similar campaign will be carried out on Thursday at Ashok Nagar, adjoining Delhi and different metro stations as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suhas said due to increased cross-border movement of people during the recent days of festivals, the coming few days are going to be crucial and the health department has also been directed to make adequate preparations in hospitals. He has also asked to the people to follow all coronavirus rules like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing in public places and avoiding casual approach against the infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
