Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other senior BJP leaders unveiled the poll manifesto on Thursday. Extending their poll promise of providing free vaccination for the people of Bihar, the BJP included free testing for the people of Hyderabad in the manifesto for GHMC polls. Former GHMC major and senior Congress leader Banda Kartika Reddy, who joined the BJP in the presence of Bhupendra Yadav, and national vice president D. K. Aruna were also at the meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking after unveiling the manifesto, Fadnavis took a dig at the K Chandrashekar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi government for not officially celebrating Telangana Liberation Day on September 17. Assuring Covid-19 treatment, Fadnavis said the BJP will ensure no one would have to go to private hospitals shelling out lakhs of rupees. He asked if Karnataka and Maharashtra officially celebrate Mukti Diwas, then why was it not such a big deal in Telangana?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assuring the availability of the Covid vaccine, the BJP said in its manifesto that the vaccination strategy will be adopted in a planned manner by the GHMC. It also assured to scrap Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) after winning GHMC polls. The BJP has promised to provide 1 lakh houses through direct beneficiary transfer without the state government\u2019s intervention, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BJP manifesto announced a complete waiver of property tax in Scheduled Caste colonies and slum areas of the city. The poll manifesto assured free transportation for women in city buses and Metro Rail. The current term of the GHMC council ends in February 2021.
