The Centre has suggested a series of restrictions to avoid super spreader events and places where crowds may gather for new year celebrations in the backdrop of Covid-19 and the new strain that has reached India with people returning from the United States. The new mutant coronavirus strain is considered to be 70 percent more infectious which was first identified in the United Kingdom. The Centre has asked states to impose restrictions on December 30, 31 and January 1. However, the final decision has been left to states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the letter to states, an official wrote that the number of Covid-19 active cases is declining steadily in the country for the last three-and-half months. But there is still a need for following strict guidelines and surveillance within our country to prevent the fresh surge of Covid 19 cases as the new virus strain has been detected in the United Kingdom.
