After reports of Priyanka Chopra flouting Covid-19 lockdown in the UK by stepping out for a salon appointment emerged, her spokesperson on Friday said the actor had been legally permitted to be there as she is currently shooting for a film in London. The actor had gone to get her hair coloured for her upcoming film Text For You.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chopra had reportedly arrived at the salon with her mother Dr Madhu Chopra and her pet dog Diana at around 4.55pm on Wednesday. The UK is under complete lockdown after a new mutant coronavirus strain has been identified in the country that is believed to be 70 percent more infectious. According to the restriction imposed on the country, personal care services including salons and spas must remain closed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chopra’s representative said Priyanka’s hair appointment was scheduled as per the government Covid-19 guidelines. She is working on a project which is being shot in London. The salon was opened privately for the production and everyone involved had been tested and followed both the film production regulations and the DCMS working guidelines, reports said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, reports emerged that the police were alerted of the lockdown violation by the salon and that they reached there at around 5.40pm. The police officials left after issuing a verbal reminder to the owner and did not impose any fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priyanka is in London with her husband, Nick Jonas, who shot for a cameo in Text For You<\/em> last month. The film, a remake of the German film SMS Fur Dich, also features Sam Heughan, Celine Dion, Russell Tovey and Omid Djalili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, Priyanka was seen in the Netflix film We Can Be Heroes<\/em>. Helmed by Robert Rodriguez, the film is a stand-alone sequel to The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D (2005). Chopra plays the role of an antagonist Ms Granada in the film where she is the chief of a superheroes organisation. The film starts when the superheroes get kidnapped by the alien invaders and the responsibility to save them falls on their children who also possess super powers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
