Delhi police will hold a meeting with farmer leaders on Saturday at the Singhu border to discuss the tractor rally on January 26. Earlier, the police had suggested alternate routes to the farmers for conducting the rally. The police told farmers how a issue of law and order might crop up in view of the Republic Day parade and suggested five other routes to the protesting farmers for holding the tractor rally. The police was given assurance by the farmers that it will be a peaceful march on the Outer Ring Road. Both the sides agreed on discussing the matter further on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Farmers’ protests are continuing abated after another round of inconclusive talks between the Centre and farmer unions. The government had earlier proposed putting the new farm laws on hold for 12 to 18 months, which was rejected by the farmers who stuck to their demand of complete repeal of the contentious legislations. The farms laws have already been stayed by the Supreme Court till further orders. However, the farmers continue to maintain that they would not move till their demands are met. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the failure of talks Union Agriculture Minister Narendra sing Tomar had said a resolution is not possible when the sanctity of the protest has been lost. He said there are forces who want the protest to continue for catering to their political agenda. He added that there was no problem in farm laws but the court still decided to stay them as a mark of respect for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A late-night press conference was held by farmer leaders where they presented a masked man they had nabbed at the protesting site.
