Last year, Kalsan had filed the police complaint in which he had alleged that Singh’s remarks had hurt Dalit sentiments stating that a large number of people had watched the video on social media. He had also informed the matter to Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij. Later, Vij had ordered the Haryana Director General of Police to take action in the matter.

Kalsan had also filed a petition in the special court established under the SC/ST Act in Hisar. The court had summoned the status report of the case from Hansi police.

Eight months after his disrespectful remarks, Yuvraj Singh, who retired from international cricket in 2019, apologised for the unintentional remarks made during an Instagram live video.

An advocate from Haryana’s Hisar had filed a police complaint against Yuvraj for his casteist remarks. Eight months after the complaint, the Haryana police has now registered an FIR under Sections 153, 153A, 295, 505 of Indian Penal Code, besides sections 3 (1) (r) and 3 (1) (s) of the SC/ST Act.

During the live Instagram video, Yuvraj had used the word ‘b***gi’ while referring to Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. The World Cup winning all rounder was subsequently slammed by many on social media for his distasteful remarks. After facing the heat on social media for his ‘disrespectful’ comments, Yuvraj had apologised and said he has never believed in disparity.
