Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Jaljeet Singh on Tuesday alleged that suspended Mumbai cop Sachin Vaze was involved in the murder of Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiren. ATS chief further said that ATS will approach the court to seek Sachin Vaze\u2019s custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing the crucial details Singh added that there is evidence to prove Vaze’s involvement in the Mansukh Hiren murder case, however, he did not specify Vaze’s motive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vaze is currently in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), arrested in connection with the recovery of an explosives-laden SUV near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence in south Mumbai. The NIA custody will expire on March 25. The ATS had last week arrested suspended policeman Vinayak Shinde and cricket bookie Naresh Gaur in the Hiran murder case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singh said that after the arrest of both these men, ATS found Vaze is a prime accused in the case and played a vital role. We need his custody and will approach the court on March 25, Singh added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Sachin Vaze denied allegations and said he does not know Mansukh Hiren, the ATS chief said the investigation team has evidence to counter the arrested Mumbai cop’s statement, adding that his exact role in the murder case is under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ATS chief further said that Vaze’s statement was recorded in the Hiren case on March 8 when he flatly denied any role in the crime, but the probe revealed that he was lying. It was Waze who had contacted Shinde when the latter walked out of jail on parole and took his help, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiren was found dead in a creek near Mumbai on March 5. His wife had accused Vaze of involvement in her husband’s suspicious death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
