Actor and former Big Boss contestant Ajaz Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday in connection with a drug syndicate case. The probe agency arrested him after eight hours of interrogation over restricted drugs found at his Mumbai residence. He was taken into custody on Tuesday evening from Mumbai airport when he was returning from Rajasthan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khan’s name had cropped up during interrogation of drug peddler Shadab Batata son of notorious drug supplier, Farooque Shaikh alias Batata. Shaikh was arrested last Thursday with over 2 kilograms of the banned mephedrone drug. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agency said it had found alprazolam tablets from his residence during searches in the city’s Andheri and Lokhandwala areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last few months, the NCB has conducted multiple searches, interrogations, and arrests in connection with the alleged Bollywood-narcotics syndicate. Following which, many A-listers of Bollywood industry, including Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan have been questioned by the NCB in the case. All the investigations and searches were linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khan had been arrested in 2018 for uploading an objectionable post on the social networking site Facebook. In 2018 he was arrested by the Thane Anti-Narcotic Cell for possession of drugs. Last year in April, the actor had been arrested for indulging in acts of defamation, hate speech, and violation of prohibitory orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
