Mumbai administration on Thursday said the city hospitals will use luxury hotels to treat Covid-19 patients with milder infections. The decision was taken to ramp up the healthcare facilities as the city is witnessing a huge surge in Covid-19 infections. Two hotels will start functioning as extensions of private hospitals from today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Private hospitals will tie-up with four-star and five-star hotels to accommodate patients with milder symptoms and those who don’t need critical. Doctors will approve the patients and their transfers from hospitals to hotels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the hotels designated as step-down facilities where minimum medical intervention is required for Covid patients will act as extensions of major private hospitals. The hotels will need a minimum of 20 rooms for Covid patients and will have medical services including doctor consultations, medicines, nurses, and ambulance transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
